Brief History
WOFKC was founded in 2005 by Drs. Tony and Luz Racela. The Drs Racela were experienced in delivering medical missions to developing countries, having also founded the Medical Missions Foundation.
The vision of WOFKC was to provide charitable medical and health care to those most in need, in a way that would support medical mission activity but be able to deliver care for the long term. The first major project for the Foundation was to raise funds for a mobile healthcare unit to take healthcare to those most in need in the Philippines. The unit is a converted tourist bus, fitted out with medical equipment and supplies donated from local hospitals. In partnership with the Lions Club of Candon City, this unit still operates today and has served over 55000 patients to date. The Foundation also carries out medical missions to developing countries, including the Philippines where the mobile unit plays a key role, but also to Nepal, Mali and in 2014 we will visit Cambodia for the first time. Poverty and lack of access to health services are not unique to the developing world. WOFKC is committed to helping the homeless population of Kansas City access primary and specialist care to help them break the cycle of homelessness. In the future we are committed to developing our programs both in our local and international communities as we fight to bring healthcare to all those who need it To contact us please complete the form on the left, or alternatively at:
